ok, i did go to the Apple store to ask.

1. No reservation is allowed, so everyone has to wait for the official release.
2. Wut they said in the previous article i posted is pretty much true. 
    - u can get a 3G iPhone in the apple store, but u'll have to go to ur carrier's store to activate it. 
    - if u r w AT&T, u pay it 4 only 199 for the 8GB one, 299 for the 16GB one.
   

that's wut l learned so far.
